Mission Madness at First Baptist Waynesboro

Join us in welcoming an estimated 200+ students and chaperones from across Virginia to First Baptist Waynesboro for Mission Madness. This is CBF Virginia's premiere, hands-on, mission-oriented spring experience for students. 

We will gather for worship, fellowship, meals, and mission work on March 16-18. Guests will be staying in local hotels while First Baptist students will be staying at church host homes. 

This year's theme for Mission Madness is "Beloved Community."

Paraña, Brazil Mission Immersion Experience

Students that have completed one year of high school, college students, and other adult chaperones are invited to join our team of 12-15 heading to Paraña, Brazil July 6-17, 2018. Our team will partner with existing local churches and missionaries to assist with a sports and Bible camp in Foz do Iguaçu.

Important Factors and Dates to know: 

- All students must have completed (at least) one year of high school.

- Participants are required to assist with church fundraising events.

- All participants must have a passport. This passport must not expire before January 17, 2019 (6 months after our return from Brazil.)

- Brazil requires all Americans to get a travel visa. This requires all passports to be sent to the State Department. We plan to send our passports between December of 2017 and have them returned in January of 2018. 

- Initial deposit of $100 is due by Oct. 15, 2017. 

- Brazil MIE team meeting and orientation with BGAV's connections contact, Craig Waddell, is Sunday, November 19 from 5:30-7pm in the Loft. 

- Total cost per participant is $2,100. (Fundraising will reduce this price) Participants must be paid in full by May 6, 2018- that's Ben and Courtney's anniversary :)

Progressive Dinner, White Elephant Gift Exchange, and Tacky Christmas Sweater Extravaganza

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Join us for our annual First Baptist Youth Progressive Dinner. We'll be traveling to several church family homes, and spreading holiday cheer along the way. Be sure to bring a wrapped gift valuing around $5 for our white elephant gift exchange. Please consider bringing an unwrapped gift for Christmas Treatings- gift suggestions can be found below. Be sure to dress to impress because we'll be giving out prizes to the tackiest, wackiest, most Christmasy sweater! 

Meet at First Baptist at 4:25 with your $5 wrapped gift in hand. 

4:45pm- arrive at Don and Carla Thomas' for appetizers. 

5:30pm- arrive at Rick and Mary Kane's for soup/salad. 

6:15pm- arrive at Cheryl and Carl Rosberg's for our entree (lasagna). 

7pm- arrive at Barrett and Noelle Owen's home for dessert and our gift exchange!

Parents, pick up students at 8:30pm at Barrett and Noelle's home (207 Pelham Drive).
