National Level
On a national level, First Baptist affiliates itself with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a fellowship of Baptist Christians and churches who share a passion for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice. CBF's mission is to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission.
State Level
Within Virginia, we partner with the Baptist General Association of Virginia (also known as the Virginia Baptist Mission Board) as well as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia.
The Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) was established in 1823 and it has always existed to “furnish the Baptist churches of Virginia a medium of cooperation for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and for the advancement of the Redeemer's Kingdom by all methods in accord with the Word of God.”
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia (CBFVA) joins national CBF, based in Atlanta, Ga., in a mission to connect free and faithful Baptists in Virginia as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission.
Local Level
Valley Pastoral Counseling Center
The Valley Pastoral Counseling Center was established in 1980. It is a non-profit interfaith and interdenominational pastoral counseling center serving the mental health needs of the surrounding area.
They are dedicated to providing counseling services to individuals of all ages, couples, families, and groups with a full range of emotional and spiritual concerns. It is our goal to respond to inquiries for services within 24 hours of your initial contact. We coordinate our care with local physicians, psychiatrists, and hospitals when medication and/or hospitalization are appropriate for treatment in an effort to facilitate the best possible outcome. Foster Love Ministries
Foster Love Ministries provides ministry and support to the local foster care community. We envision a community where foster families and children experience God’s Love through relational support, education, and tangible needs.
Foster Love Ministries wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.
Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry (Homeless Ministry)
Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry (WARM) provides emergency and temporary housing to individuals and families who lack the financial resources to maintain stable housing. WARM currently provides winter shelter to homeless adults at sites in Waynesboro and Augusta County, Virginia and temporary housing and supportive services to homeless mothers and their children in Waynesboro.
WARM is comprised of a group of community leaders, pastors, congregations, volunteers, referral agencies, and professionals who are committed to providing quality homeless services to our community’s neediest citizens. The leaders, staff, and volunteers of WARM believe that it is our community responsibility, but more importantly our brotherly duty, to feed the hungry, give shelter to the homeless, and in by doing so show God’s great love for them.
Fishburne Military School
First Baptist partners with Waynesboro’s Fishburne Military School during the school year by “adopting” a cadet in order to be a “home away from home.” Adoptive parents provide a sense of home for students who are miles away from their families. Augusta Baptist Association
Locally, First Baptist Church has also been affiliated with the Augusta Baptist Association for quite some time. Our affiliation with the ABA connects us with other Baptist churches in our area.
