Each summer, the Waynesboro Generals baseball team looks for groups to feed the baseball team after their home games. This year, we will be feeding the team on Tuesday, July 2 following the game. The chancel choir will be singing the national anthem at the game as well. So make plans to come out and support the choir, the team, and have a great night of fun!

Join us at 6PM for a simple soup supper in the Fellowship Hall. At 6:45PM, we will share in handwashing and communion together before moving into the Sanctuary for the remainder of the Service at 7PM. Through music and scripture readings, we will journey through the final hours of Jesus’ life.

Several of our senior adults want to learn how to use their smartphones and tablets a little better. We will be offering a technology workshop where our youth can sit with a senior adult or two and they can work together to answer questions. We will ask folks to submit their questions or things they want to know in advance so that we can adequately prepare.
On March 25th, youth will come to the church at noon for lunch and then the Senior Adults will come at 1. We will spend about an hour or so working together in small groups and hopefully it is a meaningful time for all.

At 10 AM all are invited to walk down to Grace Lutheran Church for our community Palm Sunday parade. There will be a short Palm Sunday litany, and then we will process back to FBW with our palms! Children will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Mark your calendars for March 10th, which will be our next ecumenical youth service day. We will spend the afternoon volunteering at Calvary United Methodist Church working in their food pantry. We will meet at Calvary UMC from 2-4pm. Please sign up by clicking the link above. If you would be willing to help chaperone this trip, we could use 1-2 additional adults (and that can be marked on the form).
We are partnering with the Waynesboro YMCA again this year to provide bags of non-perishable food for children in the childcare program over spring break when they aren't receiving meals at school.
Please bring the following donations to the collection area in the Canada Room by Wednesday, March 20:

Join us on Tuesday, December 13 from 11am-1:30pm at the church for a wonderful time of fellowship, a delicious meal catered by Takeout 250, and some wonderful entertainment provided by the First Baptist Weekday Preschool and storyteller Barbara Lawson.
Youth in middle and high school are invited to come to Passport camp this summer! We will be heading to Converse College in Spartanburg, SC for 5 nights. Youth will participate in bible study, mission projects, worship preparation, rotations, nightly parties, and worship.
Children currently in 3rd-5th Grade are invited to come to Passportkids camp this summer! We will be heading to Eagle Eyrie in Lynchburg, VA for 3 nights and 4 days of camp. Children will participate in bible study, recreation, mission rotations, worship, and evening parties.
Join us for our 10th Annual National Day of Prayer Observance. This year our guest speaker will be Dr. Loyd Allen, who will be speaking on “Praying like a Christian.” RSVP’s required by April 26th

On Sunday, February 12th we will be having a fundraiser for children’s summer programming (Passportkids and Vacation Bible School). The concept is simple: sign up to bring a crockpot of your favorite soup recipe. That’s it!
After worship on February, everyone is invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall for lunch. Choose whatever soup (or soups) you would like and eat with us! We will also have to go containers available if you would prefer to eat your soup later.
Donations will be accepted, but we encourage you to donate the same amount that you would spend if you were to go out to eat for lunch after worship.

This year’s youth Christmas Party will be a progressive dinner! We will travel to three different houses for an appetizer, entree, and dessert! At the last stop, we will do a White Elephant/Bad Santa gift swap ($15 price limit). Please sign your student(s) up below!
Join the FBW Senior Saints for a trip to see the TRBC Virginia Christmas Spectacular. We have rented an accessible tour bus for our travel, have reserved seats for the performance, and a reservation for lunch at Golden Corral. Spaces are limited. Reserve your seat today!
Families with children and youth are invited to join us for a Christmas Party! We will play some games together before having dinner- which will be a chili cook off! After dinner, we will head to the front of the church to watch the Waynesboro Christmas Parade. Sign up so we know how many to expect!
All ages are invited to join us for our Intergenerational Friendsgiving! We will gather at the church for an evening featuring fellowship, games, and a potluck! We ask that each family bring an appetizer or snack item to share. We will have all-age friendly trivia, family feud, and minute-to-win-it type games.
We are excited to bring back a community-favorite event this fall: Trunk or Treat at FBW! Families are invited to join us on Saturday, October 29th for an evening filled with games, food, and treats. We will have hot dogs, chips, and drinks available, some games and activities, and the main event- trunk or treating!
You and your furry family members are invited to attend our Blessing of the Animals! Simply stop by First Baptist on Saturday morning with your pet for a blessing. We will offer a blessing and song at 10am, and then we will provide an opportunity for each animal to receive a blessing.
Earlier this year, Lynn Fields celebrated her 40th anniversary of working at First Baptist. We want to recognize Lynn for her dedication and years of service with us. We will recognize her in worship on September 25th and have a reception for her following the service.

This summer, we will be using MennoMedia’s “Passport to Peace” VBS Curriculum and we can’t wait! Join us this summer as we travel together and learn how we can make peace a way of life. In a world that is too often divided by race, class, ethnicity, and other differences between us, Passport to Peace is a reminder that the love of God and the way of peace transcend all borders and divisions. All are welcome the gamily of God, and we can all participate in creating a more peaceful world.
