10th Annual Ecumenical National Day of Prayer Observance

Join us for our 10th Annual National Day of Prayer Observance on Thursday, May 4th beginning at 11:30. A catered lunch will be provided for $12/person. To secure your reservation, make your check payable to First Baptist Church with “Prayer Luncheon” in the memo line. This year, our guest speaker will be Dr. Loyd Allen, Professor Emeritus o Church History at Spiritual Formation at Mercer University. He is also a spiritual director and retreat leader, and he and his wife, Libby, are members at First Baptist Waynesboro. Dr. Allen will be speaking on “Praying Like a Christian.”

As a gesture of answering the prayers of those who are hungry, we will be collecting items to donate to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Items may be brought to the luncheon. The most requested items are: cereal, peanut or almond butter, canned tuna or chicken, pasta, and rice. Low sodium, low sugar, and whole grain items are preferred. Please do not bring any items in glass jars or containers.
